Internet Explorer Footer Fix

by Chris on October 20, 2009 · 6 comments

In the initial release, the fourth column in the widgetized footer didn’t quite display correctly in Internet Explore. I mainly use the Firefox and Safari browsers so I didn’t notice the problem until @kristarella and @lorennason brought it to my attention on Twitter. Thanks for letting me know by the way!

I’ve adjusted two lines of code in the custom.css file to address this issue and all footer columns are now displaying properly in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. The download file now contains the updated code in the custom.css file so you should be set. If you had already downlaoded the skin, you’ll want to grab a new copy and overwrite the old custom.css file with the new one. Besides the two lines of code that were modified, nothing else was changed.

If anyone else runs into any issues with the skin, please let me know and I’ll make sure they get taken care of!

Hi Chris,

I love this skin and I want to keep it. Unfortunately my blog doesn’t display properly when I open it in Internet Explorer 8. Both the sidebar and the footer don’t display at all. Can you please help me with that? I want to keep that skin desperately:)

Greetings
Justyna

Justyna – I see what you mean, it displays fine in Firefox but not IE. I’m wondering if there isn’t some conflict with one of the plugins you have installed? Do the sidebars and footer display properly in IE without the skin?

Very cool site, but you must improve your template graphics.

What browser are you using? They look fine on my screen in IE8, Firefox, & Safari.

Hii Chris,

Can you please tell what 2 lines of code did you added in custom.css file.?

I am facing the same problem in developing my website which is having a fixed footer in the bottom. It works fine with all the other browser except IE 8.0

I hope you will help in solving the same..

Thanks and regards,
Murtaza

Chris

The fixed footer in my development website is not displaying correctly in IE8. It is left justified instead of centered. It displays correctly in all other browsers I have used. Firefox and Safari. http://www.testzaetric.com
